

The Big Chill
February 14, 2026Pull on your boots, grab your coat & hat and join us for The Big Chill on February 14 & 15 from 11am–3pm for a weekend of winter fun.
Activities include:
- Wood carving demonstration
- Ice House talks (Sunday only)
- Maple tree tapping demonstrations (Saturday only)
- Blacksmithing & woodworking demonstrations
- Village walks & talks
- Farm Animals
- Simple family crafts in the Discovery Barn
- Trails will be open for snow shoeing (bring your own snowshoes. Weather permitting)
Our friends from the Berkshire Museum will be in the Discovery Barn with a seasonal display. Learn how to identify animal tracks in winter and make a paper lantern in honor of the many festivals of light that are held this time of year.
In addition, we will be recognizing Shaker founder Ann Lee’s birthday (February 29, 1736) with baking demonstrations in the kitchen of the Brick Dwelling on Saturday.
Great Cape Baking Company will be serving a pancake breakfast all day in the Cafe as well offering a variety of fresh baked goods and warm beverages.
Several of the historic buildings will be open to explore as well. So, shake off the cabin fever and join us for this fun filled weekend in the Village!
All event activities are included in general admission.
Adults $15, Children 12 & under, and Members FREE.
