Do you know how to tell trees apart during winter? Join Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) for a free winter tree identification walk at Pittsfield’s Springside Park and Hebert Arboretum. Guided by BEAT naturalist Chelsey Simmons, participants will learn to identify trees and shrubs year-round by examining buds, twigs, bark, and tree structure—features often overlooked once leaves are gone. This stop-and-go walk will be entirely outdoors; please dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.
