Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular at the Berkshire Athenaeum

October 24, 2026

The annual Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular is back. Mark your calendars because the Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield’s Public Library, is bringing the pumpkin patch inside on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Families are invited to the Library for an awesome morning of fall fun. Participants will be able to select a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and bring it to a carving station in the Library’s Auditorium. Carving stations will be set up with all the tools and supplies needed to create a spooktacular jack-o’-lantern. In addition, there will be craft stations, snacks, and a scavenger hunt. Youth and families are encouraged to wear costumes.

Please note, the very last pumpkin carving session will begin at 12:30 pm, so don’t be late.

“We look forward to the Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular every year,” said Ashlyn Castonguay, a local parent. “My older children love carving, and my youngest is old enough to paint a pumpkin this year. The best part is that I don’t need to set up or clean up, it’s all taken care of.”

The Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular is made possible thanks to the generous contributions of Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum.
