The long-awaited premiere of El Viaje, a video podcast exploring the inspiring and diverse stories of immigrants in the Berkshires, will take place on Friday, October 25 at WANDER Berkshires. The podcast is fully in Spanish with English subtitles. This community event will feature a screening of the first episode, followed by a Q&A session and open conversation with the creators and contributors.

El Viaje is more than a podcast; it’s a space for immigrant voices to share their journeys, challenges, and triumphs. It is produced by Katunemo Art Collective members Carolina Hernandez, David Melchor, and Marina Dominguez at Community Television for the Southern Berkshires in collaboration with Language Justice Solutions.

“El Viaje was born from our desire to highlight the resilience and cultural contributions of immigrants in our area. Through their stories, we hope to foster understanding, empathy, and a sense of belonging,” says Marina Dominguez, the co-creator of the podcast and founder of Katunemo Art Collective.

Rich Frederick, Executive Director of Community Television for the Southern Berkshires, adds, “It has been a pleasure to welcome the creators of El Viaje to CTSB. The series is a great example of how community-based media centers provide access to state-of-the-art production equipment and facilities enabling all to share their stories, voices, and talents.”

The video podcast will air every Friday at 8 pm on public channel 1301, YouTube, and Spotify.
