Pittsfield, Mass – The 13th annual 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy all there is to love about Pittsfield! Presented by the City of Pittsfield and Barrington Stage Company and in partnership with Mill Town Foundation, the festival features a wide array of music, art, theater, dance, play, outdoor fun, fireworks and more from February 15-25, 2024 in the heart of the Berkshires.
“I’m looking forward to experiencing my first 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival as mayor,” stated Mayor Peter Marchetti. “The new Clapp Park Winter Festival is a great addition to the 10×10 with exciting activities including a cardboard sledding race, snowshoeing, s’mores and more. I also can’t wait to get out and enjoy all of the Pittsfield dining options during the 10×10 Restaurant Week.”
Featured events include: the 10×10 New Play Festival at Barrington Stage Company; the first Clapp Park Winter Festival; Downtown Pittsfield, Inc’s Downtown Pittsfield Restaurant Week, including a special 10-day event with Hot Plate Brewing Co; Berkshire Museum is hosting its Ten Days of Play and the Berkshires Jazz concert with the BAA Real Art Party moving to the Clock Tower Artist Studios.
The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts will feature The Clock Tower Artists at the Lichtenstein. The exhibit features artists: Deborah Carter, Joanie Ciolfi, Marion Grant, Caroline Kelley, Bruce Laird, Mark Mellinger, Shany Porras, Audrey Shachnow and Sally Tiska Rice. Each will contribute original artwork spanning multiple genres—from watercolors to wearable art to gilded pears. The show runs February 15-25 with an artists’ reception on February 15 from 5-7pm. There will also be artist events throughout the festival including painting demos and talks. There will also be a drumming class and a spoken word event at the Lichtenstein and at Dottie’s/Dorothy’s.
Berkshire Theater Group will present Magic Tree House Merlin Missions: Winter of the Ice Wizard, the BTG PLAYS! 2023-24 touring show on February 17. The play with music is based on the book by Mary Pope Osborne and will feature youth actors from the Berkshire community.
Downtown Pittsfield, Inc is coordinating the Downtown Pittsfield Restaurant Week, with 17 restaurants and bars in downtown Pittsfield participating. Bonus events include a special 10-day event with Hot Plate Brewing Co and the one-night only return of Trivia with Double Entendre on February 20 at Thistle and Mirth. Dining Passports will be available at participating locations to encourage people to dine in as many restaurants as possible over the 10 days. Patrons will receive a sticker on their passport and an entry into a prize drawing for restaurant gift cards for each unique place they dine.
Berkshire United Way will host 10x the Fun from 3:30-5:30pm on February 24 at the Zion Lutheran Church. This free family festival will offer activities, including crafts with TG’s Clubhouse, a photo booth hosted by 18 Degrees, and paint and sip with Downtown Pittsfield Inc., and performances. The free 10 Minutes of Fireworks follow, returning to the Common on First Street at 6pm (dusk). NOTE: The fireworks will be launched from the Common so the viewing area will be in the First Street Parking Lot, across from the Common, or the parking lot on Eagle street. No one will be allowed inside the Common when the fireworks are being launched.
There are plenty of outdoor options. The Clapp Park Winter Festival will be held on February 19 from 10am-2pm.
