SUMMARY:Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Pittsfield 4th of July Parade has an historic reputation dating back to 1824. \nThis year’s event is themed “Young at Heart\,” and it will have more than 100 units\, including over a dozen floats\, several musical and dance performances\, and other elements that celebrate the community’s youth. \nA long-beloved tradition\, it kicks off on July 4 at 10 a.m. on the dot and proceeds through the downtown. \n“It is a lot of work\, but we have a great team\,” Parade Committee President Rebecca Brien said during Pittsfield Community Television‘s “Parade in Preview” program on Wednesday night. \nPCTV’s Executive Director Shawn Serre said\, “Really\, nothing tops the Pittsfield Fourth of July parade.” \nPittsfield native Madison Quinn was named the Grand Marshal for her leadership of the non-profit organization Strong Little Souls\, which she founded at the age of 13.  SLS provides care packages\, meals\, toys\, and reading materials to young patients while advocating for pediatric cancer research. \nThe parade is preceded by the annual 4th of July 5K run on the parade route. \nClick here for more information.

DESCRIPTION:Cold Chocolate is a genre-bending Americana band that fuses folk\, funk and bluegrass to create a unique sound all their own. DESCRIPTION:In late 2024\, this group played our taproom as part of our Silver Lake Presents series\, and because they launched right into their set with little fanfare\, some of the folks milling around the taproom thought that perhaps it was an extended soundcheck. Slowly but surely\, everyone realized that they’d not only started the show\, but that the instrumental movements and ambient vocals were a part of their first song. This turned out to be their only song\, an incredibly memorable and inventive 20+ minute piece that captivated the whole room. \nThe layering of sound and the sense of command that Blackpool performs with was one of the most artful and inventive things we’ve gotten to witness since we first started programming music\, and when we thought about putting together a lineup of some of the most interesting and inventive bands in the region\, they were at the top of that list—and our fans have been talking about that set for months now\, too\, asking when we were going to bring them back. Now we have an answer.

Other musical theater credits include her Tony-nominated performance as “The Baker’s Wife” in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods\, a song on the Tony Award-nominated score for SpongeBob SquarePants\, and an Emmy Award-nominated appearance as Mary Magdalene in NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar Live.” She plays Dawn Solano on the Emmy-nominated musical comedy series “Girlseva\,” the third season of which is streaming now on Netflix\, and is currently at work on a musical theater adaptation of Meg Wolitzer’s best-selling novel “The Interestings\,” alongside author Sarah Ruhl. \nEMILY KING is a four-time Grammy-nominated songwriter and singer who was born and raised in New York City’s Lower East Side. DESCRIPTION:We were lucky enough to have Job Creators play the taproom once before and had the chance to experience the ways that they weave prog rock grooves and a wide variety of audio samples into fun and interesting songs. Instead of being gimmicky\, the usage of smartly curated samples adds a fun dimension to what would already be a pretty compelling drum-and-bass act if they were to strip themselves down to just that. \nTheir LP Love Monster gives you a really good sense of who this band is and what they do best\, but seeing these songs performed live helps you experience the hypnotic way that their sound transcends the sum of its parts. \nListen to Job Creators
