DESCRIPTION:This concert has been postponed to a later date due to weather. \nIt’s one of our most intriguing and creative programs yet: New York-based sax virtuoso Scott Robinson will be performing 10 numbers that were composed or made popular by 10 different saxophonists. And…he will be doing this on 10 different saxophones! \nNot many jazz artists could carry this off\, but Scott has the chops and the hardware to make it happen.  He has created a one-time program that will be performed with an all-star Berkshires Jazz trio of Benny “Fingers” Kohn on piano\, John Suters on bass\, and Conor Meehan on drums. \nA mainstay in the Maria Schneider Orchestra\, he appears on 275 recordings under his own name or with other leaders. Throughout his career\, Scott Robinson has worked to keep unusual and obscure instruments in the public view. We’re delighted to participate in that initiative. \nIt’s all part of the 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival\, a 10-day art series that is held in Pittsfied’s Upstreet Cultural District. \nWith his roots (and family) in the Berkshires\, Scott will be playing to a home-town crowd.
