Museum of the Moon at the Berkshire Museum
Gaze deeply into the winter night sky this holiday season with Museum of the Moon. Featuring an awe-inspiring installation of lunar views and glowing moonlight by UK artist Luke Jerram and an ethereal soundscape by award-winning composer Dan Jones, this award-winning exhibit brings together the best of science, starlight, and celebratory seasonal fun.
Museum of the Moon is an exact replica of Earth’s moon, a gently glowing orb suspended in midair. This radiant installation was created using NASA imagery of the lunar surface, inspiring those who experience it to contemplate the many ways the Moon connects humankind across time and culture.
A full calendar of events compliments this exhibit. Choose from family-friendly magic shows and activities, Paint & Sip, choral music, morning classes from Radiance Yoga, poetry, or a screening of a new documentary about NASA astronauts, The Wonderful, followed by discussion with astronaut Cady Coleman and Josh Simpson, a deep space and cosmos-inspired glass artist.
