10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival Celebrates 12th Anniversary with Ice Sculptures, New Collaborations, Live Music and More!
Pittsfield, Mass – The 12th annual 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy all there is to love about Pittsfield! Presented by the City of Pittsfield and Barrington Stage Company and sponsored by the Mill Town Foundation, the festival features a live array of music, art, theatre, dance, play, ice sculpting, outdoor fun, fireworks and more from February 16-26, 2023 in the heart of the Berkshires.
“The 10×10 Upstreet Arts Festival is the perfect opportunity to bundle up, get outside and enjoy all that winter has to offer,” stated Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer. “From outdoor activities to events, and exhibitions, the festival has something for everyone. You won’t want to miss it.”
Featured events include: the 10×10 New Play Festival at Barrington Stage Company; Downtown Pittsfield, Inc is coordinating the Downtown Pittsfield Restaurant Week, including a special 10-day event with Hot Plate Brewing Co and live music downtown; Berkshire Museum is hosting its Ten Days of Play; the Berkshire Art Association’s Real Art Party and the Berkshires Jazz concert.
The free 10 Minutes of Fireworks are back! Sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union, it returns to the Common on First Street on Saturday, February 25 at 6pm (dusk). NOTE: The fireworks will be launched from the Common so the viewing area will be in the First Street Parking Lot, across from the Common. No one will be allowed inside the Common when the fireworks are being launched.
Berkshire United Way will host 10x the Fun from 3:30-5:30pm Saturday, February 25 at the Zion Lutheran Church. This free family festival will offer activities, including crafts with TG’s Clubhouse, a photo booth and paint and sip with Downtown Pittsfield Inc., and performances.
There are plenty of outdoor options. Bousquet is offering $10 Tubing Night and artists Peter Vacchina and Robert Markey will be creating works of art made from ice in front of the Berkshire Museum on Friday, February 17 (this date may change due to weather). Look for Facebook and Instagram updates and live footage of this event. Curl Berkshires and Berkshire Natural Resources Council (BNRC) have 10×10 events.
The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts will feature the 10×10 Out of the Studio exhibit. Out of the Studio features artists who have studios at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts: Mario Caluori; Rick Casucci; Peg Dotchin; Jim Horsford; Sean McCusker; Nicole Rizzo; Jesse Tobin McCauley and Michael Vincent Bushy, each will contribute original artwork spanning multiple genres—from oil and water color paintings to performance based art. The show runs February 3-24, 2023 with an artists’ reception on Friday, February 24 from 5-7pm.
Jacob’s Pillow returns this year, hosting a workshop and performance from Versa-Style Dance Company at the Boys and Girls Club. The workshop and performance will explore the fundamentals of street dance forms and a high-energy performance of ORIGINS of Hip Hop. Families and participants of all ages are invited to come dance, watch, and learn.
Berkshire Theatre Group presents BTG PLAYS! 2022-23 Touring Show, Magic Tree House: The Knight at Dawn KIDS at the Colonial Theatre and Hancock Shaker Village is bringing back The Big Chill to add to the 10×10 festivities.
